Richard Wilgus
I was born in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania which is in the Pocono
Mountains in North East Pennsylvania. I was raised in Bangor, PA
(my hometown), which is 30 miles south of Stroudsburg and 10 miles
from the Delaware River and 1 1/2 hour drive north of Philadelphia.
I have two sisters (Priscilla and Phyllis) and I'm the only one
in my family who can draw. I've been drawing ever since I can remember
(I was 5), my mother took me to this artist in the nearby town of
Pen Argyl. The artist was Bob Doney and he saw my artwork and told
my mother that I have talent and not to discourage me. I've been
drawing ever since, but other than the art class you get in high
school, I've had no formal training of any kind. I believe and others
have said I have a God given gift. I love to draw from my imagination.
